What real sectors actually score

A published index takes a set of websites somebody else selected, scans every one of them with the same engine and the same method, and reports the result together with what that result cannot tell you.

Published indexes

The rules these follow

  • Somebody else picks the sample. Every index names the regulator, register or published list that chose which sites are in it. An index of sites we picked ourselves would be an accusation dressed as research.
  • Ranking is by best, never by worst. The highest scores are ordered; everyone else is alphabetical. There is no bottom of these tables.
  • Every entry links to its own report page, and every report page carries a removal link that works with no account and no wait.
  • The method is published in full, including what an automated scan cannot check, before anyone quotes a number off one of these pages.

How we test sets out the engine, the score and the limits in detail.
